Disclaimers
Last updated: September 22, 2026
Trauma Empowered (www.TraumaEmpowered.family) offers education, reflection tools, and information about trauma and recovery. Please read this page before you use the site.
1. This is education, not treatment
This site is for learning and personal reflection. It is not:
-
Therapy, counseling, coaching-as-treatment, or medical care
-
A diagnosis or clinical assessment
-
A crisis line, hotline, or emergency service
-
Legal, financial, or custody advice
-
A substitute for a licensed professional who knows your history
Reading this site, using a prompt, watching a video, or sending a message does not create a therapist–client, doctor–patient, attorney–client, or other professional relationship with Marty Ray Gold or Trauma Empowered.
2. If you need help now
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are in the United States and thinking about suicide or are in a mental-health crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
If a child is in danger, contact local emergency services or child-protection authorities.
This website cannot see you, assess risk, or intervene in a crisis.
3. Trauma content can be activating
Some pages, stories, and prompts discuss abuse, neglect, grief, family conflict, and other painful subjects. That material can bring up strong memories or body responses.
Go at your own pace. Stop if you feel flooded, shut down, or unsafe. Use grounding skills you already have, or step away and contact a trusted person or a licensed clinician.
These tools are optional. You do not have to complete every prompt.
4. You are responsible for how you use this material
You decide whether a prompt, idea, or exercise is appropriate for you. We do not know your diagnosis, medications, legal situation, or family system.
Do not use this site to:
-
Replace care from a licensed therapist, physician, or other qualified professional
-
Treat a medical or psychiatric emergency
-
Reconstruct another person’s memories for them
-
Confront someone in a way that puts you or others at risk
-
Give clinical advice to other people as if you were their provider
If you work with a therapist, consider reviewing any exercise with them before you use it in depth.
5. No guaranteed results
People heal at different speeds. Nothing on this site promises that you will feel better, repair a relationship, recover a memory, win a case, or reach a specific outcome. Past stories or examples, if we publish any, are not a prediction of your results.
6. Families and minors
This site is written for adults. Caregivers may use the material to think about family patterns. It is not a parenting program, custody evaluation, or child-therapy protocol.
Do not enter a child’s full name, school, address, photos, or detailed abuse history into a form on this site. If you need help for a child, contact a licensed pediatric or mental-health professional in your area.
7. Accuracy and updates
We work to keep information clear and current. Trauma research, language, and best practices change. Content may become outdated. We do not warrant that every page is complete, error-free, or right for your situation.
8. AI-assisted content
Some text, layouts, or media on this site may be drafted or formatted with software, including AI tools. We review educational content before publishing when we can. Automated tools can still miss context or oversimplify. Use your judgment.
We do not use this site to provide automated diagnosis.
9. Third-party links and tools
We may link to books, articles, organizations, videos, or other websites. Those resources are not under our control. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or advice.
10. Testimonials and stories
If this site includes personal stories, quotes, or examples, they reflect that person’s experience at that time. Details may be shortened or anonymized. They are not a guarantee and not a recommendation to follow the same steps.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Trauma Empowered and Marty Ray Gold are not liable for any loss, injury, decision, or outcome that results from your use of this site, including use of prompts, articles, videos, or forms.
Use of the site is at your own risk. The site is provided “as is.”
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Governing law
This site is operated from Utah, United States. These disclaimers are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
We may update this page as the site or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised disclaimers.
